Rangers and St. Mirren are two separate professional football clubs based in Scotland.
Rangers Football Club, commonly referred to as Rangers or The Gers, was founded in 1872 and is based in Glasgow. They currently play in the Scottish Premiership, the top tier of Scottish football. They have a historic rivalry with another Glasgow-based club, Celtic, and together they make up the Old Firm.
St. Mirren Football Club, commonly referred to as St. Mirren or The Buddies, was founded in 1877 and is based in Paisley. They currently play in the Scottish Championship, the second tier of Scottish football. St. Mirren have a healthy rivalry with local clubs such as Morton, St. Johnstone and Hamilton Academical.
While both clubs have different histories, accomplishments and fan bases, both have a rich tradition in Scottish football and continue to compete at a high level.
